Elizabeth May holds a news conference in Ottawa to introduce her new caucus and also to announce she is resigning as Green Party leader. She will remain as the party’s Parliamentary leader and a leadership convention will be held October 2020 in Charlottetown. She has been party leader since 2006.

May is joined by re-elected MP Paul Manly and Jenica Atwin, the party’s first MP to be elected in Atlantic Canada, as well as acting leader Joan-Ann Roberts and deputy leader Daniel Green.
