Voters went to the polls to elect a new national government for the third time in five years and the Green Party vote came in at 2.7%, up 1.1% from the 1.6% achieved in the previous election. A total of 864,743 people voted Green Party in the U.K. The Greens retained their one seat in Parliament as Caroline Lucas took Brighton Pavilion with an increased majority of 11,940 votes over her nearest competitor, a Labour Party candidate. Lucas and the Greens received 57.2% of the popular vote, up 4.8% from 2017. Huge thanks to the wonderful Green Party of England and Wales volunteers and the candidates for the terrific effort!
A tangible gain for the Green Party of England and Wales
