As of midday Friday, New Zealand Daylight Time, Chlöe Swarbrick was officially confirmed as the MP for Auckland Central, beating the Labour Party candidate by just 1068 votes.

Swarbrick, 26, is the youngest MP in New Zealand Parliament, representing the Green Party of Aotearoa New Zealand.

New Zealand operates under a mixed member proportional representation government, including List MPs, Electorate MPs and Māori electorates. Auckland Central is the second ever electorate win for the Green Party of Aotearoa New Zealand.
