The Green Alliance has once again denounced the acts of corruption within the National Risk Management Unit, which affect the current President of the Senate, Iván Name, and the former regional councilor Sandra Ortiz.
Through a statement, the community regretted the resignation of former mayors Claudia López and Antanas Mockus, who presented their resignation arguing that the leadership that motivated the creation of the party, which has always had the fight against corruption as its driving force, battle, had been lost.
“We regret the resignations that have been presented in recent days. Those of us who remain sincere and selfless within the Green Alliance Party will continue to build unity in an inclusive manner with all expressions that have historically fought corruption,” they expressed.
In the statement signed by co-chairs Antonio Navarro Wolff and Rodrigo Romero, they also rejected the “generalization” of all activism due to the alleged corrupt behavior committed by Name and Ortiz.
“We also do not accept that the entire Green Alliance Party is generally considered responsible for corrupt behavior, let alone in the pursuit of political gain. Corrupt members of the UNGRD must be judged,” the text reads.
Finally, they emphasized that the relevant actions within the party are underway and, in this sense, on May 3 they filed a complaint with the Ethical Control Board so that it can be impartially determined whether it there are responsibilities between its members.
“Transparency and the fight against corruption, healthy and constructive deliberation, respect for difference and party unity contain the values that have preserved the political identity of the Green Alliance since its origin,” he said.
