Led by its President, Dr Frank Habineza, the Democratic Green Party of Rwanda (DGPR) held a grand rally in Musanze District, Northern Province, focusing on women and youth empowerment through political education and training.
The meeting emphasized the party’s commitment to its core principles: participatory democracy, ecological wisdom, social justice, non-violence, sustainable development and human rights.
In his speech, Dr Habineza highlighted the importance of youth and women in building a more democratic and sustainable future for Rwanda.
He reiterated the DGPR’s firm stance against violence and political instability, making it clear that the party does not support coups and remains committed to peaceful governance and democratic processes.
“Our party believes in democratic change through dialogue and participation, not through violence or military coups. We are committed to the rule of law, justice and sustainable development to ensure a better future for all Rwandans,” Dr Habineza said.

Several party leaders and local community members attended the meeting. They discussed sustainable economic growth, environmental preservation, gender equality and youth inclusion in governance.
Party leaders further emphasized the need for active civic engagement to strengthen Rwanda’s democratic landscape.
Women and youth participants expressed enthusiasm for the training, with many recognizing the importance of political awareness and leadership empowerment as key drivers of national progress.
The Democratic Green Party of Rwanda has continually positioned itself as a pro-democracy and environment-focused political force in Rwanda, advocating for a balanced approach to governance that respects human rights and prioritizes long-term sustainability.
