Against Extremism, Corruption and Political Hypocrisy
When extremist parties come to power, history repeats itself. They promise a revolt against the “elites”, but in reality they serve the same interests: they cut taxes for the rich, cut public services for the poor and reward their cronies with public money. They feed on the anger of ordinary people, but use it as a weapon to protect their privileges.
All over the world, we see the same scenario.
In Hungary, Orbán’s government has transformed the state into an instrument of political clientelism. In Brazil, Bolsonaro has sold the commons to those in his circle. In the United States, huge tax gifts are being given to the economic elite, while citizens have only received words and threats, with troops deployed in peaceful cities.
I wonder why far-right parties in Europe are financed by oligarchs! Because they care about the people? NO! Because they want to defend their privileges and weaken the European Union.

The Green Party of Romania
Romania: Decades of Hypocrisy and Political Capture
Today, in Romania, the same patterns are taking root. But extremism is not the only threat. For decades, the parties that dominated the Romanian political scene – PSD and PNL – turned the state into a prey for group and gang interests.
Under respectable labels – “social-democrat” or “liberal” – these parties practiced the same politics of clientelism, systemic corruption and the capture of state institutions. The same people circulated between parties, the same networks of interests controlled public contracts, the same political families divided taxpayers’ money.
Instead of authentic social policies, PSD offered electoral welfareism and the growth of the bureaucratic apparatus. Instead of real economic liberalism, PNL protected monopolies, privatized profits and nationalized losses. Both have transformed public office into an instrument for rewarding party loyalty, not competence.
Romanians are fed up with this political circus. They are fed up with unfulfilled promises, with endlessly repeated corruption scandals, with incompetence transformed into a system. They are fed up with parties that claim to be opponents, but govern according to the same rules of group interest, ignoring the real needs of citizens.
And now, populists and sovereignists who proclaim themselves “anti-system” are building their careers out of lies, fear and hatred. They promise “justice for the people”, but they are preparing the ground for an even weaker, more corrupt state, captured by other private interests. Under the guise of nationalism, they attack the judiciary, destroy education, ignore science and buy their silence with positions and contracts.
The Green Party says: enough!
Romania deserves more than a continuous chess match between the same networks of interests dressed in different clothes. It needs real transparency, fairness and dignity. Not leaders who sell illusions, but people who build solid institutions and a sustainable economy.
We need a state that supports education, health, science and innovation, that rewards honest work and protects people and nature. A state that does not sell out to the highest bidder, regardless of the political color it displays.

The Green Party of Romania
Our project is simple and clean:
A sustainable economy, which does not sacrifice the future for today’s profit and which invests in clean energy, modern infrastructure and quality jobs.
An authentic social state, which abandons no one – with quality public services in health, education and social assistance, not with temporary electoral aids.
An honest politics, based on facts and competence, not driven by fear, populism or gang interests. A politics in which public offices are filled by professionals, not by self-serving and party militants.
Total transparency in the spending of public money, with zero tolerance for corruption and conflicts of interest.
An independent judiciary that works for all citizens, not just for the politically protected.
What we are fighting for
The far right wants to take us back to the past. The old parties want to perpetuate their corrupt present. We are fighting for the future.
The Green Party wants a profound change in politics in Romania – a politics that serves the citizens, not the political parties. A politics in which the state belongs to the people, not to the gangs that cling to power.
We are fighting for a future of hope, built with courage and responsibility, based on human dignity. For a country in which every person feels safe, respected and truly represented.
For a Romania that is not afraid of truth, science or solidarity. For a Romania in which the environment is protected for future generations, not plundered for immediate profit.
For a green, just and free Romania, integrated into a Europe of peace and cooperation.
Change is possible. But it begins with the courage to say NO to old practices and YES to a new way of doing politics – honest, transparent, competent and dedicated to the common good.
The Green Party. For a Romania for all, not for a few.
