The Greens will benefit from significant support for the upcoming elections in Europe. Former President of the Constitutional Court Pavel Rychetský announced that he would support the Greens in the European Parliament elections. According to him, his decision to vote for the Greens is an expression of confidence in the political program and vision of the party, as well as in the personality of candidate Johanna Nejedlová.
“I will not hesitate to give them my vote. The party is led by Johanna Nejedlová, whom I respect for her work in the field of human rights,” Rychetský said.

The Green Party agrees with Mr Rychetský that protecting the climate also means protecting human rights. This is why the Greens asked him to comment on the recent judgment of the European Court of Human Rights in the trial of elderly Swiss women.
“What is remarkable about the judgment of the European Court of Human Rights is that it considers inaction to be a violation of the Convention. Its importance goes far beyond the borders of the member states of the Council of Europe. For our courts and other state institutions, the decisions of the Strasbourg Court of Human Rights have an unprecedented character, that is to say a binding character. I am happy that our Green Party is also agree with this ruling,” said Johanna Nejedlová, the leader of the Green Party.
The next European elections will take place between June 6 and 9, 2024, depending on the electoral regulations of each country.
