“We stand in solidarity with the workers and students in Belarus who are striking for democracy and freedom in the country.
A new election that is free and fair must be held under the supervision of the @osceorg, and police brutality towards protesters must be stopped immediately.”

The protests in Belarus over the past weeks have been for the resignation of current authoritarian leader, Alexander Lukashenko, who was inaugurated in secret just two months prior. Many protestors have been met with violent arrests by Belarusian police.

Lukashenko maintains that this civil unrest is entirely due to outside sources.
