Le Pakistan Green Party a été fondé en 2002 et est actuellement dirigé par Liaquat Ali Sheikh.
Ali Shaikh a été arrêté le 19 septembre 2012 alors qu'il participait à la distribution de matériel d'aide aux personnes touchées par les inondations à Jacobabad City, au Pakistan. Les dirigeants écologistes du monde entier se sont rassemblés pour exprimer leur opinion et demander sa libération.
