Will Marie Vitoux lead a Green Party list in the upcoming municipal elections in Nantes? Or will she form an alliance with incumbent mayor Johanna Rolland from the very first round, given their shared record?
“We are looking to find common ground on policy issues with our left-wing partners, whoever they may be, and we know that there are still obstacles to overcome,” said Marie Vitoux.
The party members will vote on the strategy in a few weeks.

In the meantime, the lead candidate presented her 160 proposals this Sunday at the “Green Party Festival.”
Among them: More social housing (50% of new housing units), a climate adaptation plan for schools, a municipal health insurance plan, free public transport for low-income residents, and making the Erdre River swimmable, following the example of Anne Hidalgo’s project for the Seine in Paris.
This is a “green initiative,” as Marie Vitoux pointed out, adding that “it is a very serious proposal because it involves combating pollution, fighting against pesticides, and making our rivers swimmable again by finally putting an end to the use of certain harmful chemical products.”
