Meet The Team

Global Green News is an online news website based in Montreal, Canada and founded by Green Party of Quebec leader Alex Tyrrell. We aim to cover Green Party and environmental news worldwide from a progressive eco-socialist perspective.

With Green Parties in over 90 countries around the world, we are the only media outlet dedicated to covering this unpresedented global movement in which people form Green Parties and run for office on progressive platforms. In some countries and regions Green Parties hold elected office and several are currently engaged in coalition governments. In other regions they are small emerging organisations of variable size. This movement is currently exerting political pressure in over 90 countries and is becoming increasingly influential in many of these countries with each election cycle.

The movement seeks to uphold environmental protection, social justice, anti racism and democracy with a pacifist world view. We at the Global Green News seek to support and engage with the movement by sharing high quality news, information and stories from the frontlines of this growing movement.

Launched in October 2020 Global Green News is now home to a dynamic team of over a dozen journalists, interns and social media experts who publish new content on a daily basis.
