Given that the problem of the landfill in Crvenka dates back more than a decade and that the JKP “Vodovod” from Crvenka, which manages it, cannot cope with this serious problem. The residents of the town of Crvenka are constantly exposed to the unpleasant smell of burning and stench, which spreads from the landfill, especially on days of strong wind.
The solution to this problem is the opening of the Regional Waste Management Center “Rančevo” as soon as possible, and the decision to establish “Rančevo” was made by the Kula Municipal Assembly on December 7, 2021. “Rančevo” is a regional landfill that should have started operating long ago, and an Agreement on the Establishment of the JKP Regional Waste Management Center “Rančevo” has been drawn up for the city of Sombor and the municipalities of Kula, Apatin, Odžaci and Bač.
While we wait endlessly for the start of the “Rančevo” operation, the landfill in Crvenka is still burning and represents a real ecological bomb. In addition to the stench, the increased smell of plastic and shavings sticks to the respiratory organs. Children, the elderly, as well as plant and animal life are particularly at risk.
The local government of the Serbian Progressive Party and its satellites, the SVM and the SPS, is engaged in organized trips to the so-called “Ćaciland”, bringing thugs and security-interested persons to deal with the citizens of the Kula municipality, who have been protesting for months and demanding justice for the victims in Novi Sad.
In the further work of the Kula Municipal Assembly, the councilors of ZLF (Critical Mass – for Victory), will continue to pressure the incompetent local government through institutions and street actions to end the problem of the landfill in Crvenka and to ensure that the problems of environmental pollution are not solved by awarding the charter of honorary citizen of the Kula municipality to former minister Irena Vujović. The Green-Left Front has a solution for such problems and will present its “green policy” plan to the citizens of the Kula municipality with responsible policies.
