The Green Alliance of Colombia, through its deputy Carolina Giraldo, decides to file a complaint with the Attorney General’s Office regarding the link between an engineering company that obtained public works contracts in eight departments of Colombia , with the so-called Clan del Golfo, one of the most dangerous criminal organizations in the country.
One of the most serious facts, according to Carolina Giraldo, is that one of the captured, Cristóbal Rodríguez Hernández, owned more than 3,000 real estate assets valued at 250 billion pesos, and at the same time is part of the UTL ( Legislative Work Unit ) of a Representative in the House of the Party U. Likewise, he was contractor for the first vice-presidency of the House of Representatives, apparently due to political recommendations.
This complaint exposes a criminal structure that feeds on public resources, produces taxpayers, to protect itself and strengthen its criminal operation on Colombian territory.
The Green Party asks the authorities to speed up investigations, as well as to ensure the protection of its representative Giraldo, her family and his work team, who in the past have suffered threats and intimidation against their lives for having denounced acts of corruption.
