Given the importance of the Greens’ return to the Assembly of the Republic, 135 people gathered to demand the need for a determined and consistent voice to Parliament in favor of environmental and social justice.
FOR THE RETURN OF THE ECOLOGIST PARTY OF ECOLOGISTS TO THE ASSEMBLY OF THE REPUBLIC

135 people gathered to demand the need for a determined and consistent voice in Parliament
According to the Greens, when the Green Party ceased to be represented in Parliament, environmental and sustainable development issues lost their place on the parliamentary agenda and were no longer regularly addressed in the Assembly of the Republic. Portugal’s Green Party, Partido Ecologista Os Verdes (PEV), has always been a driving force for debate and proposals that clearly reflect the urgency of ecological responses and has always championed the grievances and aspirations of the population—a coherent effort to promote environmental and social justice.

More than a hundred people sign a petition
“We are living in a time of ecological emergency, and the presence of Green MPs in the Assembly of the Republic is essential to raise awareness, denounce, propose, and find structurally sustainable solutions,” reads a statement published on the party’s website.
For the Greens, the environment, the foundation of life, must be prioritized and not neglected. In this sense, the party believes the Greens will return to Parliament, and therefore supports this petition, initiated by people who understand that ecology requires the firm action the PEV has already demonstrated over the years.
The PEV is a key voice in the Assembly of the Republic in Portugal.
