Since the beginning of July, the Palanga branch of the Democratic Union “For Lithuania” has a new chairwoman – Mantė Lukošienė. Elena Kuznecova, who has been leading it since its establishment, left the position of chairwoman of the branch in the spring of 2024. Until July 2025, the branch was led by Mykolas Rimkus, and since July it has been led by Mantė Lukošienė.
“Generational change is a normal process of life. It is time to give up positions to young, energetic and motivated members. This is exactly what our branch’s new chairwoman, Mantė Lukošienė, is like. The majority of branch members voted for her and she was chosen from more than one candidacy,” E. Kuznecova told “Palangos tiltai”.

“My further activities in the party continue, and there is no doubt about that. As far as my current personal circumstances allow, I participate in the activities of the branch, I am a member of the board, I support young people, their ideas, I share my experience. I will continue to do that,” said the well-known resort politician.
She is convinced that the Palanga branch of the party, which unites about 60 members, will definitely have something to draw up for the 2027 elections to the City Council.
“We have implemented a number of specific measures provided for in our election program, and we will continue to work purposefully in a team of like-minded people,” said E. Kuznecova.
The Palanga branch of “For the sake of Lithuania” has two seats in the 2023-2027 City Council.
