At the press conference, the two political parties presented a concrete plan to strengthen climate protection, stimulate the Czech economy, increase the incomes of 90% of families through tax cuts, and ensure affordable housing.
Gabriela Svárovská, co-chair of the Greens, an expert on human rights, diplomacy and ecology, and a candidate in Prague, pointed out the need to change the state’s priorities and strengthen citizens’ trust:
“Czech society is tired not only of inflation and bureaucracy, but also of the fact that fundamental decisions are often made according to the interests of a narrow group of the richest. We want a fair tax system and a functional state that does not privatize public services, but strengthens them – and with them the trust of citizens. Together with the Pirates, we offer a responsible, professional and democratic alternative, because we must stand up for the good future of the Czech Republic.”
Zdeněk Hřib, the chairman of the Pirates and the national leader, emphasized that at a time when populists and extremists are uniting in Europe, it is necessary to offer a clear alternative that unites liberal voters: “We see populists, extremists and authoritarians uniting across Europe who want to divide society, spread fear and hatred. We say a clear NO to this. That is why today we stand side by side with experts from the Green Party – to offer a truly liberal alternative. We are bringing a concrete plan to stimulate the Czech economy, increase income and reduce taxes for 90% of families and ensure affordable housing. The common slogan ‘We will kick it’ is not just a slogan, but a challenge – let’s defend freedom, democracy and a future that belongs to everyone together.”

Zelení – Strana zelených
Matěj Pomahač, co-chair of the Greens, stressed the importance of sustainable agriculture and landscape protection: “Unlike other parties, we are not connected to godfathers, holding companies or hostile regimes. Our parties grew from the bottom up and defend a free civil society. We believe that the landscape should be alive, diverse and protected – not destroyed by agro-giants and pesticides. We will reduce energy prices through the development of renewable sources, support young and responsible farmers and ensure healthier food and the development of the Czech countryside.”
Olga Richterová, vice-chairwoman of the Pirates and leader of the Prague candidate, presented the main election priorities: “At a time when prices are soaring and the state is burdening people instead of making things easier for them, we are coming up with a clear plan to kick-start the modernization of the Czech Republic – for ordinary people, not for behind-the-scenes players. We want at least ninety percent of families to have more money in their wallets, which is why we are proposing a reduction in direct taxes, cheaper basic food, and an increase in tax bonuses for children. We are the only ones who want to crack down hard on corruption and tax evasion, and we have concrete results behind us.”
