The PAN/Azores Parliamentary Representation considers that the proposed Plan and Budget do not reflect the party’s principles and priorities for the region, highlighting weaknesses in areas that are central to the party’s causes, namely, among others, combating the climate emergency, promoting animal welfare, fostering prosperity in education, defending labor justice, and protecting victims of domestic violence. These shortcomings are compounded by the challenges of the housing crisis, coupled with the urgency of meeting the goals of the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR) and Azores 2030, alongside public debt which has reached record levels.
Given this situation, the party submitted a comprehensive set of proposed changes to the documents, aiming to correct some of the identified shortcomings and provide solutions that benefit the entire Azorean population, reflecting its commitment to developing policies aligned with the real needs of the population, promoting a more equitable and inclusive society where collective well-being and sustainability occupy a central place in political decisions.
