With just hours to go before the deadline for submitting candidate lists to Congress, political parties are accelerating their efforts to finalize their applications with the National Registry. The Green Alliance has already submitted its list of candidates for the House of Representatives in Bogotá. The Greens have unveiled the 100 candidates included on a list they believe reflects the diversity of voices seeking to bring a more pluralistic, accessible, and engaged agenda to Congress, one that is committed to the transformations the country needs.

The list will be headed by Catherine Juvinao, one of the party’s most prominent figures in the capital. She is followed by former City Council candidate Natalia Goyeneche and influencer Laura Camila Vargas. The list combines young and technically skilled candidates: it includes athlete Javier Suárez, former Icetex president Mauricio Toro, and Vladimir Rodríguez. In total, there are 18 candidates.

In the Senate, the Greens will compete as part of a coalition formed by Colombia Renaciente, ASI, the Democratic Party, and En Marcha. The list will be headed by former Bogotá mayor Lucho Garzón, a decision that ended the internal competition between Jota Pe Hernández and Angélica Lozano. The vote was as follows: 20 votes for Garzón, 6 for Jota Pe Hernández and 5 for Lozano.

The Green Party invites the population to support this process and to entrust a project that allows Congress to respond to the challenges of Colombia and open new opportunities for all.
